Play Star Wars™: Unlimited
The Galactic Championship is the greatest event for Star Wars™: Unlimited throughout the year, packed to the brim with activities, prizes, and—of course—tons of games. Naturally, the star of the show is the titular main tournament itself, which serves as the culmination of a whole year’s worth of Star Wars: Unlimited Organized Play.
Also occurring during this event is the Galactic Open side tournament, which serves as the first tournament of the next season of Organized Play.
All participants in both the Galactic Championship main tournament and the Galactic Open side tournament are expected to be familiar with the latest version of the official Star Wars: Unlimited Tournament Regulations.
We also require that all participants please adhere to the Galactic Championship Code of Conduct.
Main Event
The Galactic Championship tournament for Season 0 is an open event, which means that all attendees of age 13 or older are welcome to participate. The tournament utilizes the Premier format with best-of-three matches, and the event takes place over three days. Day 1 consists of 8 Swiss rounds, and all players with a record of 6-2 or better (meaning anyone who loses 2 or fewer matches) will qualify for Day 2. Any players who earned a Day 1 bye throughout the Organized Play season automatically qualify for Day 2, and will not participate in Day 1.
In Day 2, the players who qualified in Day 1 are combined with the players who earned a Day 1 bye. Everyone’s current tournament record will be reset, and then Day 2 will consist of another 8 rounds of Swiss play. Just like the first day, anyone who ends the day with a record of 6-2 or better will continue on to Day 3.
For Day 3, each remaining player’s record is retained from Day 2. The day begins with 3 more rounds of Swiss to determine the final Swiss rankings, after which the tournament will cut to a Top 8 single elimination bracket. Whoever wins the elimination rounds will be crowned this year’s Galactic Champion!
Days 1 and 2 are projected to run from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM local time, while Day 3 is projected to run from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
The Galactic Open Side Tournament
If the Galactic Championship is the final tournament of Season 0 of Organized Play, then the Galactic Open can be considered the first tournament of Season 1. Similar to the main tournament, this is an open event in which anyone of eligible age (ages 13+) can participate. It utilizes the Premier format with best-of-three rounds. Registration for the Galactic Open will open at 9:00pm on Friday July 25, once Day 1 Swiss rounds have concluded for the main event.
The Galactic Open is a two-day event, with Day 1 taking place at the exact same time as Day 2 of the Galactic Championship main tournament. Day 1 consists of 8 Swiss rounds, and each player who achieves a record of 6-2 or better will advance to Day 2.
Day 2 of the Galactic Open takes place at the same time as Day 3 of the Galactic Championship. The remaining players in the Galactic Open compete in 3 more rounds of Swiss (retaining their records from Day 1) and then cut to a Top 8 single elimination bracket. Whoever wins the bracket wins the Galactic Open side tournament!
Whether or not you participate in the main tournament, the Galactic Championship still has plenty of side events for you to enjoy! The Side Events page has everything you need to know about what side events will take place at what times, so you can plan out your weekend without worry!
